Failure during pvxPromptConvertCopySource

Hi,

I have seen these errors occur on all of our uploaded mp3 files, the format is as specified by the specs, but the files don't play and this error comes up in the logs. These files used to work.

Has something changed on the platform that could be causing this?

Thanks,

Melanie Sullivan

specific IVR error text is Failure during pvxPromptConvertCo

IVR error indicates anomaly in MP3 file

Hi,

We recently deployed a patch to our VoiceXML platform with stricter MP3 decoding. That IVR error indicates an anomaly in your MP3 file. You should re-encode the file with a fully MP3 compliant program.

Are you running on Linux or Windows?

We are running on Windows.

Is there some way to detect which of our mp3 files are affected by this issue, other than trying to play them through voice xml?

Thanks,

Hi,

If you have some mp3 files that are badly encoded, you might want to reencode all of your mp3 files. You can follow this link to find software from the LAME library that will reencode your mp3 files.

http://lame.sourceforge.net/links.php#Windows

Plum IVR developers have heard good things about winLAME.

Thanks.

Was there any notice sent out to users after this change was made? I did not see anything, I had to hear about it from our customers...

This was a minor patch to a proprietary VoiceXML extension. However, if you wish to be notified of all IVR updates in the future, we can add you to the release notification email list if you email support@plumvoice.com with your customer ID.
