Can SMS From Number be spoofed?

Can the from number that is displayed on the recipient's phone be spoofed when sending an SMS message? I.e., can it be a different number than the account number?

Hi,
Unfortunately, the number that is displayed on the recipient's phone cannot be different than the number in your account. If you try to send an SMS using a number that is not listed as an SMS number in your account, it will fail.
